William and Andrew Smiths Werk über einen Teil der traditionellen Schottenkaros mit einer Karte von Schottlands Hochland, in der die Territorien der "Clans" dargestellt sind. "The object of the present Work being the production of a complete Series of well-authenticated Tartans of the Clans and Families of Scotland, executed by the novel and beautiful process of Machine Painting, it is perhaps scarcely necessary that the Publishers should apologize for the brevity of the Sketches of the Clans and Families wich accompany them" (Vorwort). – Vor den Tafeln je ein weißes Schutzblatt gebunden, diese mit Abklatsch. Wenig fleckig, die Blätter durch den Leim der Tafeln stark gewellt, lediglich die ersten Blatt etwas gebräunt.
