Berlin. 2 Aquarelle mit Darstellungen des Berliner Straßenalltags. 28 x 25,5 cm (Darstellung). Um 1900.
Die detaillierten und realistischen Aquarelle geben den Alltag des Berliner Arbeiterstandes wieder. Unterhalb der Darstellungen befinden sich die Titel: "Das Cafe am Kreuzberg" und "Die fahrenden Verzinner". Es sind jeweils zwei Personen, zwei Männer und ein Mann und eine Frau dargestellt, die auf offener Straße ihrem Beruf nachgehen, wie die Bewirtung und die Verzinnung. Dabei haben sie allerlei Utensilien bei sich wie Töpfe, Kaffeekannen und Becher, Wolle, Flaschen, Pfannen, Metall, eine Pfeife etc. – Papierbedingt leicht gebräunt und minimal stockfleckig. Ecken nach innen abgerundet.

Berlin. Sammelband mit Ansichten der Stadt Berlin. 42 montierte Stahlstiche. 23 x 32 cm. Leinen d. Z. (hinteres Gelenk angeplatzt, etwas berieben und ausgeblichen). Berlin um 1860.
Das Privatalbum wurde von einem gewissen P. Masfone für die "Signora D. Teresa Granito Contessa di Cerro" zusammengestellt und ihr im Oktober 1858 gewidmet. Die Stahlstiche, alle mit hs. französischer Bezeichnung, zeigen den Kreuzberg, die Bibliothek, das Universitätsgebäude, die Bauschule, die Schlossbrücke, den Dom, das Schloss, die Nikolaikirche, das Bethanien-Krankenhaus, den Gendarmenmarkt, das Gefängnis, die Borsigwerke, das Humboldt-Schloss und vieles mehr. – Stellenweise gebräunt und braunfleckig, meist wohlerhalten.

Vgl. Kiewitz 991-999. – Der privat zusammengestellte Sammelband wurde als Geschenk angefertigt, um die Erinnerung an den Berlin-Aufenthalt einer Cousine zu würdigen. Die Tafeln zeigen u. a. die folgenden Ansichten: den Kreuzberg, das Brandenburger Tor, das Zeughaus, die Neue Wache, das Museum mit dem davor befindlichen Lustgarten, das Schauspielhaus, das Krankenhaus Bethanien sowie das Charlottenburger Schloss.
– Die Original-Trägerpapiere stärker braun- und stockfleckig, die Tafeln leicht bzw. etwas braunfleckig. Leicht gebräunt. Vorderer fliegender Vorsatz mit hs. Widmung.

The images show postwar Berlin with its many ruins, Trümmerfrauen and includes two self-portraits. Usa Borchert was the wife of Eric Borchert, the star photographer at the Berliner Illustrirte Zeitung. He published the standard book on war photography under the National Socialists titled "Entscheidende Stunden. Mit der Kamera am Feind" in 1941, but he fell shortly later in North Africa in Tobruk in 1942. – Some corners bumped, some with creases, one with tear, otherwise in good to very good condition.

These dramatic images show the few days after the GDR had asserted rights which only the Allies were entitled to. In response General Lucius D. Clay positioned American tanks at the border near Checkpoint Charlie. The images were taken by the East German secret police. – Some with creases in corners, slight edge wear, otherwise in good condition.

The German affiliate of F.W. Woolworth & Co. was founded in 1926 in Hotel Adlon, Berlin and the first German store was opened in Bremen in 1927. A larger store was opened the same year in Berlin on the corner of Leipziger Str. and Markgrafenstr. The cheap prices and merchandise laid out on open tables were the foundation of its success. – Corners slightly bumped, a few nicks in edges, one print with stronger crease in upper edge (backed), slight silvering in edges, otherwise in very good condition.

The Berlin Polo Club e.V. was founded in 1906 and was the second largest (after Hamburg) in Germany and on the European mainland. It was the meeting place of the Bohéme but also the aristocracy. With its international network and many Jewish members the club was a thorn in the side of the National Socialists and they pressed for its dissolution in 1933. This is a rare document of the club's heyday. – Photographs in very good condition.

Another interesting aspect is the painted advertising visible on many of the larger buildings. – Photos in very good condition.

A comprehensive collection comprising views of Berlin in the 1950s. The first part of the album consists of photo postcard views, showing many of the newly built architectural landmarks of Berlin such as the traffic tower at the Joachimsthaler/Ku'damm corner; the new Zoo Palast cinema; the Kempinski Hotel; Kranzler Eck; the new restaurant pavillon in the exhibtion garden (Funkturm); the new HdK concert hall, Hardenberg Str.; Kongresshalle, Tiergarten; many planes at Tempelhof Airport; views of the architectural exhibition 1957; the new Bilka department store; the Bikini Haus and several views of Berlin by night. At the end of the album are a group of private shots showing the streets of Berlin, the Zoo station under reconstruction, Autobahn bridges and construction at Halensee, street traffic, the Berlin Hilton hotel and the Memorial Church in its state as a sole ruin. – Photographs in very good condition.

um 1797. Bildnis Friedrich Wilhelm III. (1770-1840), König von Preußen, in blauer Uniform mit Bruststern des königlich-preussischen Ordens vom Schwarzen Adler.
Gouache und Aquarell auf Elfenbein. 4,4 x 3,4 cm (oval). Im Medaillonrahmen mit rückseitig eingefasstem Haarornament und dem ligierten Monogramm "AR" aus Gold.

Am Weihnachtstag des Jahres 1793 heiratete Friedrich Wilhelm Luise zu Mecklenburg-Strelitz. Das Paar lebte im Kronprinzenpalais Unter den Linden in Berlin und im bescheidenen Sommersitz Schloss Paretz bei Potsdam. Fast bürgerlich lebte dieses einander sehr zugetane Paar. Mit Herrschaftsantritt von Friedrich Wilhelm im Jahr 1797 wurde seine Frau zu Königin Luise, die von den Berlinern wohl verehrteste Königin aller Zeiten.
