In May 2003, Braschler and Fischer embarked on a road trip across the United States with the goal to create a photographic portrait of Americans - capturing how individuals perceive themselves and their country. While some portraits were arranged in advance, many of the subjects were encountered spontaneously along the way, reflecting the openness that shaped the project. The photographers were struck by the diversity and warmth of those they met, and this portfolio, produced in conjunction with the book publication, offers a vivid and multifaceted glimpse into the American spirit. – Some corners slightly bumped, some prints with a few small dents, mostly in margins, a few nicks in margins, otherwise in very good condition with bright colors.
