An den Grafen Wolkenstein, den österreichischen Geschäftsträger in London, dem er die Zustimmung der britischen Regierung zu einem gemeinsamen Projekt anlässlich der Weltausstellung in Wien 1873 mitteilt: "I have the honor to acknowledge the Receipt of your Note of the 3rd ultimo, relative to the Participation of the Danubian Commission in the International Exhibition proposed to be held at Vienna, and I now beg, in reply to state to you, for the information of the Austro Hungarian Gouvernment, that Her Majesty's Government have had much pleasure in instruction Her Majesty's Commissioner to cooperate with the Baron de Schlechter with the above object, which, as Her Majesty's gouvernment understand, will be limited to matters in connection with navigation of the Danube".
