One print with magazine archive stamp, therein annotated in ink and one with press text printed on the verso.

The uprising of 1953 in East Germany began with a strike by East Berlin construction workers on June 16 and escalated into a widespread revolt against the GDR government the following day. In Berlin, the protests were violently suppressed by Soviet tanks and the Volkspolizei, yet unrest continued, with demonstrations in more than 500 towns and villages.
