"Stute mit Fohlen" (Mare with Foal). 1963/ printed 1993. Gelatin silver print. 80 x 116 cm. Signed and dated by the photographer in white ink in lower right, framed under plexiglass in metal frame.

This famous image of a black mare with her white foal by Peter Thomann won the World Press Photo Award in 1963. Today Thomann's photographs are in many international museums and collections. Since 1997 this image has been used for the official Kentucky Horse Park Logo. – A few fold/crease marks, otherwise in very good condition. Richard Ungewitter was the earliest advocate of the "FKK" nudist movement in Germany. He published several books on the subject between 1903-1925 which caused much protest at the time. Many of the photographs show his friends and followers. – Some traces of use, otherwise in good condition.

Two souvenir albums of Sierra Leone and Nigeria of a German tradesman working for an English company in West Africa. Circa 1904-1909. Together circa 75 collodion paper prints. Various sizes, most circa 15 x 21 cm and smaller. Each inserted in photo corners, most annotated in English in white ink on the mounts, bound in full ornamental canvas albums (edges slightly rubbed) with cord binding.

Interesting albums documenting the British colonial rule in West Africa. Shows meetings between chiefs and British officials in Sierra Leone and other regions, native wedding festivities and economic exploitation of wood and agricultural goods. The albums belonged to the German tradesman Adolf Kemna who worked in an English trade company in Nigeria, Sierra Leone and Ghana from 1904-1909. – Some slightly faded, some with scuff marks/surface blemishes, otherwise most photos in very good condition.
