The two photos offered here are not mounted together, but side by side they comprise a panoramic view. – Some handling marks, otherwise in very good condition.
Photographer: Robert Lenz (1864-1939). Views of Siam. 1890-1900. 22 vintage platinum prints. Most circa 28,5 x 22,5 cm. Some with title and number in the negative in lower edge in the negative, most annotated in pencil on the verso.
This extensive collection of views of Siam mostly shows temples, pagodas, gardens in and around Bangkok, the Royal district and other architectural structures, such as the Wat Suthat, Wat Phrah Prang Luang, Wat Phra Keo, Stupa of Nakhon Pathom, Nat Cheng courtyard, Buddha gallery at Wat Poh, Chinese cabinet in Wat Suthat, view of the Khlong Bang Luang and parts of the King's Palace. Also includes images of the Royal Barges, one image of ceremonial Siamese dancers and a group of Siamese youths. – Some corners bumped, some with time-staining in edges, some with slight nicks in edges, otherwise in good to very good condition with strong contrasts.

Photographer: Joseph Tairraz (1827-1902). Views of the Swiss Alps. 1870s. 10 albumen prints. Each circa 13 x 21,5 cm. 6 signed by the photographer in the negative, mounted to album boards on one side of album page, bound in contemporary blue canvas album (edges rubbed, slight soiling) with gilt-stamped title Souvenir de Chamonix on front cover.
The Tairraz family of Chamonix produced several generations of Alpine photographers. In 1857 Joseph Tairraz began taking daguerrotypes and took the first photographs at the summit of Mont Blanc in 1860. He provided tourists and mountaineers with souvenir portraits and mountain views. His son Georges, who was an apprentice to Pierre Petit in Paris, took over the studio circa 1882, which was then called "Tairraz Alpine Photographic Studio". The studio continued throughout the 20th century. – Some faded, some light surface scuffing, some with retouched spots, otherwise in good to very good condition.

Some light surface scuffing, otherwise in good condition.
Various travel album views. 1860s-1870s. 11 albumen prints (2 hand-colored). Each circa 16 x 23 cm and larger. Each mounted to board, annotated in ink below images on mount.
A diverse collection of views including Saigon (Emile Gsell), a Japanese geisha, Niagara Falls, Marseilles, Seebad Treport, the U.S.S. Nevada (New Zealand), Cannes, Mentone, Vienna and Coburg. Also includes a hand-colored reproduction of a painting. – Some with soiling spots, one with glued torn area, otherwise most in very good condition and with strong contrasts.

Tripe took the first photographs of Burma and used a large-format 15 x 12 inch camera. His architectural and topographical views are of great documentary importance as they are among the earliest surviving photographs of Burma. Some of his waxed paper negatives are in the collection of the Royal Photographic Society. – A few light spots in sky area, otherwise in very good condition.

Sample album of various Agfa-Gevaert photographic papers. 1950s. 48 vintage gelatin silver prints (most ferrotyped) on Agfa-Brovira, Grandamo, Scenario, Portriga-Rapid, Syntobrom, Verda, Record and Lupex papers. Various sizes between circa 17,5 x 14 cm. Each with left and lower white margin with paper type in lower margin, bound with punch holes in left side in original plastic binder.
Agfa-Gevaert used the negatives of many well-known German photographers such as Peter Keetman, Herbert List, Alfred Ehrhardt to demonstrate the various photo paper qualities the firm produced. An attractive collection showing the subtle differences in photo paper available at the time. – Photos in very good condition.

View of the spectacular interior of the Barcelona Pavilion with the free-standing stone wall of onyx doré on a wide travertine floor and the diaphanous room separators. Mies van der Rohe's spatial concept is particularly evident in this view. One recognizes the simplicity and clarity of the layout and the interaction of the exquisite materials. A rare documentation of this extremely modern, streamlined design by Mies van der Rohe. The structure was van der Rohe's first major work, which was unfortunately torn down after the exhibition. – Corners slightly bumped, retouched spot in upper left, light indentation mark in upper right, otherwise a fine tonal print in very good condition (not examined outside frame).

With the appointment of Martin Wagner as Berlin's city architect (Stadtbaurat) in 1926, a new spirit of innovation emerged in the redesigning of Berlin. This particularily concerned a newly adapted traffic planning, as well as the design of some prominent Berlin squares, such as Alexanderplatz shown in this example, based on the ideas of the Bauhaus. Architects such as Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Walter Gropius, Hans Scharoun and Hugo Häring were called upon for these building projects. – Minimal crease mark in upper right, otherwise in very good condition (not examined outside frame).
