In 1877 Kutaissi was connected to the Poti-Tbilisi railway line via a branch line, and during the following industrialization the population of Kutaissi grew to over 30,000. Since this time Kutaissi became the traditional rival of Tbilisi for capital status. – Some surface scuff marks, some faded in edges, otherwise in good condition.
