Selected images of Henny Porten (1890-1960) in various roles and on the set of different films. 1910-1930s. 24 vintage gelatin silver prints. Various sizes between circa 27 x 22 cm and 13 x 9 cm. Each annotated in ink/pencil by Stefan Lorant, several mounted to modern board most with Stefan Lorant Collection stamp on verso.

A wide selection of photographs showing the German film actress Henny Porten in different roles as well as on the sets of various films such as: "Alexandra" (1914), "Auf der Alm gib's ka Sünd" (1915), "Rose Bernd" (1919), "Kohlhiesels Töchter" (1920), "Die Geierwally" (1921), "Anna Boleyn" (1921) "Wehe, wenn sie losgelassen..." (1926). – Some with minimal oxidation mirroring in edges, a few minimal surface scuff marks, a few with creases, otherwise in good condition.

Annotated Der Film schaut auf die Filmschau. Hollywood, Cal. March 15th, 1929 and signed by Egon Erwin Kisch in ink in lower portion.

Some edge wear, small loss in right corners, some fold marks and buckling.

Leni Riefenstahl (1902 - 2003) and Rolf Lantin (active 1930s/50s). Film still portfolio of the film"Tiefland". Circa 1944. 34 vintage gelatin silver prints. Each circa 21,5 x 27 cm. Each mounted to Japan and mounted to light green card (some lightly timed-stained in edges), in original wood portfolio (some time-staining) with ties, dedicated, dated and signed by Leni Riefenstahl in ink on front flap.

"Tiefland" (Lowlands) was scripted, directed, acted in, and edited by Leni Riefenstahl. Produced by Leni Riefenstahl and Josef Plesner, it is based on the opera "Tiefland"and the original play "Terra baixa" by Àngel Guimerà. "Tiefland" was the last full feature film of Riefenstahl as director and main actress. She began developing the script in 1934, and the movie was shot between 1940-44. The film, however, was not completed by the end of World War II and not finalized and released until February 11, 1954. Riefenstahl dedicated the present portfolio to Dr. Reinhard Kamitz: Tiefland. Herrn Minister Dr. Kamitz in ergebener Dankbarkeit gewidmet von Leni Riefenstahl, Wien 2. Nov. 1953.
After the war Leni Riefenstahl was accused of having recruited 51 extras from the "Zigeunerlager" Maxglan, who, after they were no longer needed, most of them were murdered in Auschwitz and other camps. In 1982 Nina Gladitz produced a detailed TV documentary about this subject. This documentary was then the subject of a court case in which L. Riefenstahl was defeated. – Rich tonal prints in very good to excellent condition.

Portrait of the actor/director Luis Trenker (1892 - 1990) and 2 original Italian film poster boards for the film "Der Berg ruft" (La grande Conquista). 1932 /38. 3 vintage gelatin silver prints. 39,5 x 29,5 cm and 26,2 x 20,5 cm (47,8 x 34,3 cm). Mounted to board (traces of use and soiling), two poster boards with printed film text in Italian.

Rare large-format, dramatic portrait of Luis Trenker made in 1932 for the film "Der Rebell" which was used as an image for an advertising poster, along with two original Italian film advertising poster boards for the film "Der Berg ruft" (1938). – Portrait with some retouched damage, especially in edges, all with some surface scuff marks, otherwise in good condition.
