The photography and media artist Jürgen Klauke is known for his critical and confrontational view of normed sexual identities and social behavioral patterns. He was one of the first artists to translate the symptoms of the state of paranoia into aesthetic expression. In works ranging from highly minimalistic to strongly excessive, and also at times surrealistic scenes, his photographs reflect on the basic conditions of paranoid existence. Using everyday materials as a means to produce images, the artist creates a concentrated look at the absurdity of life. – Small fold mark in left edge, buckled in edges, small retouched spot in left upper area, otherwise in very good condition.

This image was taken during the "Exposition internationale du Surrealisme" in the Galerie Daniel Cordier, Paris for Vogue magazine and shows André Breton, Mansour, Joyce Mansour, Pieyre de Mandiargues, Radovan Ivsic, Marianne Ivsic, Mimi Parent, Robert Benayoum, Elisa Breton, Nora Mitrani, Yves Elleouet and models Kouka (Dior), Margretta (Lanvin) and Birgitta (Revillon). – Some handling creases/marks, slightly buckled, otherwise a strong print with good contrasts.

The earliest mention of Wiele and Klein dates from 1890, when it is mentioned as a prize winner at the Madras Fine Arts Exhibition. After 1918, Wiele returned to England and Theodor Klein bought out his shares. In the 1920s, Michael Peyerl joined the company as a partner to operate the company as a photographic studio until World War II. Klein & Peyerl existed in other business areas until 1987. – A few light surface scuff marks, otherwise an attractive atmospheric print in very good condition.

His marble sculpture "Amphitrite" (1895) can be seen in the left corner, on the right is "Badendes Mädchen (1897). – Some light handling marks, otherwise in good condition.

An intriguing portrait of the German artist Käthe Kollwitz in her studio. In the background one can see her sculpture "Mutter mit zwei Kindern" (Mother with Two Children). The photographer Tita Binz began her career with an apprenticeship at her uncle Léopold Reutlinger's studio in Paris. She later moved to Berlin, where she had her own studio as of 1938, specializing in portrait photography. – Traces of previous mounting on the verso, otherwise a fine tonal print in near excellent condition.
