The Japanese photographer Kyoichi Sawada worked for United Press International and received the 1966 Pulitzer Prize for Photography for his combat photography of the Vietnam War during 1965. Two of his photographs were selected as "World Press Photo of the Year" in 1965 and 1966. This image, showing a Vietnamese mother and her children wading across a river to escape a bombing of their village, won the award in 1965. Sawada died in 1970 while on assignment in Cambodia. – A few light handling marks, otherwise in very good condition.

The Bauhaus student Xanti Schawinsky was the graphic designer of the city Magdeburg between 1929-1933, during which time he designed the facades of many public buildings. He also was a photographer and photographed his own designs. This image combines a Cinzano bottle and glass with one of his artworks as a backdrop. – Edges minimally bumped, otherwise a fine print in very good condition.

The German photographer Michael Schmidt began taking pictures at age 20. He is a representative of the socio-documentary photography in Germany and his work is marked by a sober and reality-based style. In 1976, he founded the "Werkstatt für Photographie" in Kreuzberg, Berlin. Known best for his Berlin series, which shows the city empty and in a transitory state, Schmidt is considered one of the major German photographers of the "New Topographic Movement" and he worked up until his untimely death in 2014. – A few light creases in margins, otherwise rich tonal prints in very good condition.
