Nan Goldin's portraits of the transsexual Joey have a special place in her oeuvre. Like the works of Tillmanns and Araki, they are among the icons of 1990s photography. – A few minimal handling marks, otherwise in near excellent condition.

From 1925-26 Herbert Hensky completed an apprenticeship as a decorative painter and then attended the School of Arts and Crafts in Berlin. From 1926-1938 he worked as a decorative painter's assistant. In 1932-1933 he became a member of the Arbeiterphotographengruppe, Prenzlauer Berg (Workers' Photographers' Group). He began photographing for the Arbeiter Illustrierte Zeitung. Between 1938-1945 he worked as a photographer in Berlin, mainly for the Aviation Ministry. As of 1945 he worked as a photojournalist for newspapers such as Signum and Freie Welt.

Portrait of the writer Antonina Vallentin (1893-1957). Circa 1929. Vintage gelatin silver print. 23,8 x 17,8 cm. Photographers' Paris stamp and annotated and layout notes in pencil on the verso.
Antonina Vallentin, née Silberstein, was born in Poland and spent many years in Germany until her emigration in 1929, where she first met the Einsteins, with whom she remained friends the rest of her life. While working in the Foreign Office under Gustav Stresemann, she met the author H. G. Wells and invited him to give a speech on world peace in the Reichstag. In 1929 she married the French politician and writer Julien Luchaire. She wrote several important biographies, including one on the life of Leonardo da Vinci, which was chosen as Book of the Month. A. Einstein wrote the preface of her biography on Stresemann. A. Vallentin mastered four languages and lived as a writer and translator in New York and Paris, where she died in 1957. – Corners slightly bumped, stronger professional retouching in face area, otherwise in good condition.

This very unusual series of images documents the construction of one of the first major iron-concrete buildings in Germany. The engineering company Heimbach & Schneider built a water tower in Fußach near Bregenz in 1907. The original photographs are accompanied by an offprint of the magazine "Beton u. Eisen" from October 1907. The Königliche Anatomie in Munich, the first building of its kind, was also built the same year. – A few light traces of use, minimal silvering in edges, otherwise in good condition.

This rare album features the top achievements of the German metal and electrical industry - exhibited in Berlin in 1927. Also featured are Reichspräsident von Hindenburg during his tour along with the leaders of the German metal industry. The album also includes a presentation letter to the presumed owner of the album Dr. Georg Masing (1885-1956), one of the most important inventors and metal experts of his time. – Some with mirroring in edges, otherwise in very good condition.
